French Vendange Tilt-Top Table
A late 19th-century French vendange (wine harvest) tilt-top table with a beautifully pared-back presence. The circular pine top is constructed from two individual planks with a central join — often mistaken for a crack, this is in fact where the two boards naturally meet, a typical and authentic feature of the period.
The top has been recently limewashed, giving a soft, chalky finish that enhances the warm grain of the wood. It sits on a beautifully structured folding base with swept feet and remnants of old white paint, now softly worn and patinated.
The tilt-top mechanism works smoothly and allows the table to be stored upright when not in use, making it ideal for a compact kitchen, wine room or informal dining space.
